Dr. Terry Mortenson
I hope you were as blessed by our time with Dr. Terry Mortenson from Answers in Genesis as I was! Here’s a note Dr. Mortenson passed along about his time at Marshall University this week. I hope you’ll join me in praying for this awesome ministry!
“As you know, I will be speaking at Marshall University this evening. It’s been a number of years since I’ve had a chance to speak on a secular campus and I’m looking forward to it. With Woke/Marxist ideology and sexual immorality (all driven by a rejection of Genesis 1-11 and the myth of evolution and millions of years) dominating American universities, it is definitely Satan’s stronghold. I need the power of Christ to be at work in preparation and on the evening.
Would you please pray that God will stir in the hearts of students to come that night and come with curiosity or skeptical pride to hear truth they have not heard that goes against all they have heard in their education. Neither my person nor my academic credentials will draw them.
Pray too for the Christians on campus to come and boldly invite others to come with them. Most of them likely have never heard the things I will share. And most of them likely are compromised with millions of years if not also evolution.
I will speak to however many show up. But pray for a full auditorium tonight.
I have prepared my slides, but I suspect that I have more than I can cover in my two hours. Pray for God to guide my thoughts as I do some dry runs and revise. I plan to end the first lecture (refuting biological evolution by considering fossils, natural selection and mutations) with quotes (on slides) by two evolutionists saying that in light of evolution that is no basis for absolute morality or purpose or meaning to life and then quotes (on slides) from Rom 1:18-20 and John 3:16 and briefly call them to trust in Christ. At the end of the second talk (on geology) I will end with a slide of Matt 24:37-39 about Jesus connecting the Flood to the coming judgment and then after quoting some of God’s laws in the 10 Commandments again call them to repent and trust in Christ.
Pray for a mighty work of God through this evening of lectures and Q&A at MU!”
