This Is Janna

I may be a stranger to you but FBCK is not a stranger to me. My name is Janna Salyers. Even though most of you don’t know me, I am thankful for you. I joined Kenova as a member in the fall of 2013 to work as an intern in the Wednesday night kid’s ministry (this was when Small Groups first started). A year later, I moved to Raleigh, NC to study Biblical Counseling at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I recently moved home, with one class left to finish my master’s degree online. Lord willing, I will graduate on May 12! I am thankful for you and this church because your giving supported me and others like me from FBCK to be able to study the Bible on a deeper level.

As I transition to home life, I am excited to start working here and using the gifts that my Savior has given me. This month I have joined part-time staff at the church to assist administra-tively with Small Groups and to coordinate a young adult ministry. My life was changed through the ministry of BCM during my time at Marshall. As a result, my heart has been geared toward seeing college and young adult aged people know Jesus in a deeper way – the kind of way that changes the direction of your life.

When I was in Raleigh, my heart still beat for the people of this area, and I wanted to be a part of seeing it changed for the Gospel. You will struggle to find anyone who loves Huntington, Marshall, and home more than I do, and it’s all tied to this strong calling I feel from Christ to do his work here.

In the meantime, I am happy to be back and to be a regular part of this church again. I would be thrilled to get to know you, and would love to be on first name basis with you. Please don’t hesitate to introduce yourself – I will be the short blonde girl in the choir (besides Dee)!

Thankful,
Janna Salyers
